In Spain the glass would be broken within a week... I guess in Vienna people behave properly,so it'll be an extremely fashionable four-in-a-row |

Would rain would be channeled down the gap between the two umbrellas to fall on the middle of the board? |

I am that engineer. Since this is only a computer visualisation to show the look and the concept, modelling such a detail didn't seem necessery within the tight time frame for it. The real table will have the umbrellas connected by a drip rail. Daniel |

Dang, if I were rich I’d talk to the mayor of the village I live in and sponsor such a place in the little park right across my place ![]() Herzliche Grüße nach Österreich, Tom |

You just need to be persuasive and know the right people. |

Thanks for spreading the word(s) Thomas. I wonder if other cities (or personal interests) could purchase a copy now that the developmental work has been completed? (a Go - worldwide - community effort... the more purchased/made the lower the cost?) |

Isn't it a tad expensive just to save the effort to fetch some boards from the Go centre next door? |

Time flies … meanwhile the Electronic Go Table with two boards has been inaugurated in a pedestrian zone in Vienna, Austria, just outside of the Go Club Go7 (http://goverband.at/wp/?page_id=758). http://kurier.at/lebensart/kiku/rund-um ... 9.630.047# Check the photos at the end of the page. <envy> <envy> <envy> Congratulations Go7, Vienna, and my deep respect to Daniel, this is a great project, and I hope we will soon see places like this all over the planet! |

It seems like the finished product is 9x9. That is probably the best choice to attract new players, but is that the only option? |

While the photos only show 9x9, I’m quite sure that 13x13 and 19x19 are also options. It would be a waste of material and money to build such a thing with only 9x9, I think. Perhaps Daniel Bösze can tell us more? |

Yes, it is indeed possible to choose the size of the board. If you choose 19x19, you get to play on the beautiful kaya goban from the title screen while the smaller boards have a simpler look. Also, you have a choice to either play alone against the computer or against another human. You can save and later load games for review and learn Go in an interactive tutorial (coming next week). If for example two beginners don't know if a game is over and choose to count, the computer finishes the game for them if there are still some open positions on the board. Of course, you can also have the score estimated during the game to help beginners better understand the influence of their stones. In the future, the inclusion of Go problems and maybe online Play are planned. Daniel |
