You're referring to GoGameGuru's offerings, right?

"English BadukTV" is a different service than the live stream, so it depends on what you are looking for.

Live Stream
* Same as what is broadcast in Korea
* Live tournaments
* Reruns of old tournaments
* Commercials
* Lectures (somewhat rare)
* Not translated

English BadukTV
* Recorded lectures
* Often from a series - most of these are between 15 and 30 lectures, but sometimes not everything is translated (e.g. Kim Sungryong has a series on trick moves, which is a series of 30 episodes. I think everything is translated now and available, but for awhile, not all were translated.)
* English subtitles

---

So if you are interested in lectures, English Baduktv is a better option, since the live stream won't consist of as many lectures. If you are concerned about understanding what they are saying and don't know Korean, English Baduktv has the subtitles, whereas the stream does not. On the other hand, if the lack of subtitles doesn't bother you, and you are interested in the latest stuff being broadcast from Korea, get the live stream. Mostly, this will consist of tournament games, often with commentary (in Korean).

---

I wouldn't worry too much about your strength. This is more a question of what type of service you want to get than anything else.

Hmm, this is tempting. I think I'll subscribe from my next pay-day.

The dubbing used to be quite difficult to follow. Now they are using subtitles. I also seem to remember it being more expensive? I mean, $20, that's totally reasonable for what you get.

Some of the videos from the library look particularly interesting, especially the "Road to 9 kyu" and "Road to 5 kyu" series. I think videos that point out common fundamental mistakes are most valuable, especially when done as part of a full game review.

Watching videos is a very easy thing to do, as is watching a keep fit programme on TV. You see a very fit man in lycra teaching us all these great exercise routines, but how many people are really doing star jumps in their living rooms? No, we are just sat on the sofa, watching, with a croissant and a milky coffee.

I wonder how many new neural connections are made by watching a go video? Probably not as many as would be made by doing problems or playing games.

They don't seem to have added new videos with subtitles for a little while.
