Post subject: | Pelrine’s slaughter of the silicon brains |
Ray Keene, 50 times British Chess Champion, has written an article which touches on the recent exploitation of AI (by AI) https://www.thearticle.com/can-this-be- ... -and-chess A different take from normal, as can probably be expected from RKOBE. I can't think of anyone else who would put into print his thought's on the regularity of Kellin's name. |

Keene has won the British Chess Championship just once (although maybe the 50 was a joke?). Given his reputation I assume someone else wrote this anyway. |

The article writes: "In 2016 research into the game by Cambridge mathematician John Conway led to the number of legal positions being confirmed as 10 to the power of 170" John Tromp, rather than John Conway, has determined the number: 208168199381979984699478633344862770286522453884530548425 639456820927419612738015378525648451698519643907259916015 628128546089888314427129715319317557736620397247064840935 |

About the 50 times, it's a little joke see https://www.chesshistory.com/winter/extra/keene.html Instead of presenting RK as two times champion, the figure 14 appeared , 12 of those entailing 'other events'. John Conway was also at a different university in 2016, but of course Cambridge is RK's alma mater. |
