I was recently looking at a list of Wii games, and I came across a game called "Ultimate Board Game Collection." Curious as to what games were in it, I decided to take a look. One of the things proclaimed was that it featured board games from around the world, but I figured Go would not be in it. I've seen a lot of board game collections that did not. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find Go on the list. This game instantly became a must buy. Call me a Go fiend, but I can't pass it up. ![]() |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like it only has Gomoku (5 in a row) Best thing you can do is connect the wii mote to your computer and use it to play on KGS (or wherever you play online) It is fun to try, but does not really add anything to the game, and because it's easier to get a miss-click I only played a handful of games this way. |

There is a board game collection for sale that has Go, but I think it's Japan release only. I think that Wii is also region locked unfortunately. http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B001 ... d_i=489986 |

Quoting from a brief commentary on this game: Quote: D3Publisher released a collection of games called “The table game”, as the first volume of the Simple 2000 series. This volume includes 11 games electable from the menu below these lines.. Vertically, from left to right: shogi, go, Othello (aka reversi), gomoku, mahjong, unknown flower-cards game, unknown flower-cards game 2, something similar to bridge, sevens (aka Fan Tan), memory and solitaire – Klondike style. Once you enter the Go section you’re prompted with the next screen where you can choose the board size, handicap, time settings, and a few other fields which I still haven’t managed to decipher. As fas I have explored, I still couldn’t find an online mode or a 2 player mode… but this may require further investigation. Quote: When it comes to the AI strenght, I can’t really rate it better than a 10k, I think it falls somewhere between 10k and 15k, but, obvious as it may seem this bot is very bot-ish As for the Wii being region locked... that's solvable ![]() |
