I want to introduce a free go game software :stonebase and its games database.in Announcement.

I post a link for downloading it,and then introduced some books about go game, but

"Admin: Please do not post links to illegal content.
6. Piracy
Posts requesting for anything illegal or copyrighted are not allowed. Links to sites that host warez or torrents for illegal content will be removed at once."

then I remove the link, replied the topic fouthly, but

"Admin: You are now officially warned for posting a link to software containing illegal content and for changing an admin's edit."

why?I seen many post with links in in Announcement. The link to the software seems to be better than others ,so I chose it.

It would be best if you take that up with the admins via private message rather than in a public thread.

Does your link lead to a work which includes a copy of a copyrighted work for which the copyright holder (usually the original author) did not give permission to distribute? Links to such works are not permitted on this forum even if they are free because they infringe on the rights of the original author.

no,the author wrote the software and distributed it freely,The link just gives a advertisement at the same time as downloading .because you can't judeg whether the software whether is right and newest by amule ,so I want to give a exact link.

No, the author includes books in his software which are copyrighted. Even if he wants to share copyrighted work freely via his software, if he does not have permission to include them in his software from the original author, then it is piracy. Stonebase includes many go books in sgf form. Have the authors of those go books all given permission to the author of Stonebase for further distribution of their copyrighted work? If not, then links to Stonebase are not allowed in this forum.

thanks for the two links,I will read it carefully.
but I had remove the link to the books.in fact I simple gave the names and a link to some snapshots of some books. It's impossible that I simple give books' names without any content for you, that's insignificance, because you can't look through the books in your libarary, you can't judge whether the book suit you.

so ,I gave a amazon site in China, because you can find some books on the site and look through the snapshots of the books ,about 3-5 pages.

Quite few go game books compareed with China ,Korea,Japan.
particularly good ones for beginners.
The stonebase users collected a great many go game ,dead and life problem,exercises,.....and recorded them as sgf files database ,it 's suit diffreent levels.
It's quite enough for a go game fans.Better than moyogo's database.

Thank you ,I see.I will keep it in that case in this forum.

.probably,go books in sgf form having no permission are about less than 1/10.Most books are old ,ancient ,public.
