Post subject:  Im stuck ... !

Hi... i have big problem . Im already around 2kyu kgs and from few days something like " i dont know what to play" or "i dont know what strategy i should use". This is already blocking my progress. Progress is too big word. Im stuck from very long time at this lvl. But from 10-15 days i dont feel spirit of go. I put 1 stone on board and dont feel continuation. This is very demotivational ;/
I cant find answer what can help to my play. Maybe there is a book what can help me ? Or you had the same problem as me and you pass it? You can help - post here. You want troll - dont post.

Greetings

Stop playing for a while; take a couple of weeks or months off. You'll come back and everything will look new again.

Last year, I overloaded my enthusiasm for the game and ended up "quitting" for 6 months. I returned now 2 weeks ago and I have much more clarity for it. I play worse though and I can't remember any joseki for the life of me, so there are downsides if you have an abysmal memory like me

even in the pro game there are time on the board where you can not find a place to play.
many times professionals try to avoid the variations that put them in that situation.
you can also use same tactic to your opponent by putting them in that situation.
as your reading gets stronger you will be able to read far so you dont put yourself and force your opponent into that situations.

You can always find places to play; it's just that most of them are bad places.

(Of course, I get the impression that sente is when I look at the board and have no idea what part of the board I should even be playing on.)

i thinking about it. But strange thing is that every first game in a new day is pretty good and i feel inspirations. Other games contrarywise.

I had very much the same problem as you when I was about the same level. The solution for me was a trip to China over the summer, which helped ignite more passion for the game and also helped me improve about 5 stones in 2 months under pretty intense professional training and the opportunity to play against professionals at all times.

Have you ever written about your experience in China (blog or essay)?

Not really; I did maintain a blog but there was very little in it, and I didn't write an essay or anything like that. Looking back at all the fond memories I had there, both on and off the goban...it's one of the things I truly regret in my life.

if you enjoy only the first game every day, just play only 1 game a day.
If you want to improve there are many other things to do than just "to play".

If i don't feel like playing go, i won't, even when there's a tournament around.
I can also have fun with my friends on a tournament without playing there. Just watching, discussing, etc. =)
