Go is often full of surprise, like what happened in the following game: At one point, black comfortably controlled the centre of the board. I could not believe my eyes when the game ended like this - not only all the potentials were gone, but all black stones (58 of them) were dead. Full game record is here: http://go4go.net/go/games/sgfview/36467 |

Quote: I could not believe my eyes when the game ended like this - not only all the potentials were gone, but all black stones (58 of them) were dead. I can see your surprise in the way the game turned out, but they're not *all* dead if black kept playing: (Just for example) |

I admit I did not attempt to read the life&death or count the points. Black must be short of points. Thanks for pointing out my mistake. And In fact black can save the 4 stones are well. |

Interesting. Why did black so passively allow his center to be taken away? |
