Could it be a cookies issue with having the www. or not? |

There is a issue with cookies sometimes after an update to the forum software (we just ran one). to fix, delete your browser cookies, then restart your browser. Let me know if this works for you or not. I posted that on the sensei's url and tried posting it on the gd one but I don't know if that worked ![]() |

Phelan wrote: Could it be a cookies issue with having the www. or not? Yes. Here's the typical pattern: 1. I log into non-www. 2. I go to the non-www site and it looks like I'm logged in. 3. I try to post something or click a link, and it directs me to the www site where I'm not logged in. 4. I try to log in, rinse repeat. Anybody can try it out by removing the "www" from their URL and checking to see if they're still logged in. Most people won't appear to be. But the "www" back, and voila! you're back logged into the site. |

The thing is, if you get logged in to both domains, you should then be OK. It seems like the board is configured to use the full URL (whatever you're using) as the cookie, while it should use .lifein19x19.com which should be seen by the main domain and any subdomain. I haven't tried changing the setting yet because if I get it wrong, I could end up logged out and completely unable to log back in to fix it. ![]() So I'd like to set up the mod_rewrite fix which means we should be able to just ignore the cookie domain issue... |
