I posted this once on Godiscussions, but since there has been a lot of new content added since then, I figured I would re-post it here and in this section as, I suppose, it falls under "anything else worth studying." If I'm wrong or if it's inappropriate for some reason, feel free to move/delete.

That said, I invite anyone and everyone to enjoy my videos found at http://www.livestream.com/batslectures . There you will find many lectures I have given on kgs and recorded for replay. Along with these are reviews of games played by 16kyus on up to 1kyu players. Where i have recieved the most positive feed back however, is on the games that I have played against dan level players and commented on while i was playing. A lot of players seem to enjoy being in the mind of a dan player while the game is being played.

I hope you all enjoy!

I'm one of those! : )
It is really great to watch these games, I always take one or two move (-ideas) with me after watching and I am eager to test them myself. On the other side, it is quite entertaining listening to you. You really do a great job!

I also like the opening-lectures very much, very useful (and I don't have any other source for this kind - I'm really glad, you make those videos)! Your game-reviews are useful, too. Despite I'm not a 1k, I could easily follow your explanations.

I hope you'll keep the good work up! =)

I also like those, they give an idea of your thought process at-speed, and the mistakes that even dan level players make. Any way to edit out the 4 minutes you spend trying to get a game?

Why? I always find that quite entertaining : D

Maybe native english speaker get a little bored but for me it's just like a way more interesting 5-minutes-english-learning podcast : ) Great voice and so on.

The short answer is yes, i could. Only trouble is that would require editing it, uploading it to a 3rd server, then having livestream download said clip from 3rd server so that it's on my site. Why that extra hassle? Seems livestream, unless i'm broadcasting live, does not want to grab files from my computer. I think it's a flash/windows 7 issue. As i've found out from uploading lectures that did not save correctly in this fashion, i lose quality when this occurs. Maybe there is a way around that, I'm not sure.

On a side note, I do stop and restart the stream (then delete the video) if it takes more than a minute or two to get a game. Oh! I should also point out that i should come through a bit louder in the next video along with the server's client a bit softer. At least, I hope.

These videos seem really useful. Is there anywhere to download them so I can watch them without the annoying commercial interruptions? I also seem to be encountering a bug where the sound stopped for some reason (using Vista).

I'll have to check this out. Even though I haven't played chess in years, I still enjoy Henrik Danielsen's videos (real time comments on 3 minute blitz games) on occasion. I'm curious to see if the live commentary translates well to Go. If so, it's a very exciting possibility for students of the game.

Well then, don't hesitate to let me know what you think, especially if you feel there's something missing that you liked from Henrik's videos. Aside from the chess~

I have an options for twitter and facebook for that i've not used as part of the livestream channel. I think one of these might serve. I'll do some testing on this tomorrow.

But that means I need twitter or facebook. I'm 30+, we grown ups use mail :)
Youtube uses mail notifications.

(this is where it gets awkward if you are 30+ too AND use twitter and facebook)

Has anyone a nice introduction video for go? One of my colleagues showed interest in go today and would like to see the game. I think before I bother him with my explanations he should first see how great the game is, what tradition it has etc.

The generally agreed upon beauty with Go is the simple rules that result in a very complex and fascinating game. What could be better than to start with a simple text about the rules themselves and they can explore further on their own. Not a video, but Robert has written some light hearted and easy to digest comments about the rules here:

I liked this series as an intro, don't remember if it talks about tradition: http://blip.tv/file/262606

Videos are amazing. I especially enjoy the ones of your own games. I'm curious though, do you feel that you play any differently when you're livestreaming? Are you thinkiing things through more or does your mind normally move faster when you don't have to think out loud?

I particularly enjoy the ones made during your own games. I've seen some strong chess players do the same thing and they're equally instructive. It is really interesting to see both how a strong player thinks and what they bother thinking about in the first place.
