Post subject:  Advice for Creating an Amazon Kingle Ebook & SmartGo Book?

I'm interesting in writing for the Amazon Kindle & SmartGo format. I was wondering what the recommended practice would be for doing this? Should I use KindleGen, write the book in HTML, use Word then Save As Filtered HTML, use Adobe InDesign, which program for diagrams, etc.? Any other advice you've gained from your experience?

Thank-you very much.

As for SmartGo Books just ask Anders Kierulf, he is on L19 as smartgo.
I don't know anything about Amazon e-books but I think you should ask John Fairbairn about whole process. He published a lot of books there.

Yithril probably also knows about the Amazon ebook experience.

For anyone else wondering, I found out that for SmartGo Books you can create the book file using a simple txt editor with a customized XML language, and making the extension a .gobook. (Anders Kierulf can provide you with a formatting, help document.) However, you (currently) will not be able to test the file without a Mac/Apple system capable of running SmartGo Kifu.

How to set and apply such a customised XML language for that purpose? How do you generate an advantage over manual editing of the gobook source code in a plain text editor?
