Hello all, I didn't hear about computer Go for a while... what's up? Any match between pro players and engines? Any new engines? What level do the best engines play now? Any fresh news? |

KGS continues to hold monthly computer go tournaments, which can give some idea of what engines are strong now. As for the level of play, you can always look at the sgfs: http://www.weddslist.com/kgs/past/87/index.html For example here's the game between the 1st and 2nd place engines in the november tournament: |

Yes I saw about Zen but I'm not interested in 9x9 Go (maybe I should)... Many faces of Go has one of the strongest engines?? Really? |

TAAI is going on right now. There will be computer vs computer tournaments in 9x9, 13x13, and 19x19. Winners play vs a pro on November 17. http://idb.csie.ncku.edu.tw/taai2012con ... /index.php http://www.computer-go.info/h-c/index.html http://www.gokgs.com/tournList.jsp Zen has won the 9x9 already, and it should be the favorite to win the 19x19 also. So far Zen has a record of 2-1 taking 4 stones against pros in 19x19. For TAAI it will once again be 4 stones. Maybe there will be a rematch of Zen vs Chun-Hsun Chou (Zen took 4 stones and won last time). |
