I thought I saw it on Amazon. And there was a really funky review. But I can't seem to find it now
I just want a cheap floor go board.
The shipping from Moriental isn't to bad either its under 30 bucks and the board is 95

Thanks but, does anyone have any real experience with this board? Does anyone know of any other floor board that are of equivalent price? Any suggestions?

No, I don't own the board, but here are my thoughts anyway...

1) It is obviously a veneer over particle board (or the equivalent) so I'm guessing it won't have much resonance or a clean "click" sound of a solid wood board (there is no "end cut", thus it is not solid wood). Veneered wood doesn't have a reputation for long life.
2) I've seen this same board on Ebay over the months, if you are looking for a US based source (seller is in Ohio): http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Solid-Wood-Floor-Go-Game-Stage-15CM-/380428322543?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58934b86ef

3) Have you actually tried sitting for any length of time playing go on a floor board? It is not for the inflexible/unlimber/pain intolerant among us! From what I have seen from recent tournament pix most are played on ~2in. boards on low to medium height tables, with the players in fairly comfortable chairs--the floor board appears to be an anachronism.

Just my $0.04 (inflation, y'know ;-)

Hmm i didn't think about how much it would hurt. I think you are right. I just think that the floor ones look really cool. I'll probably end up getting a table board since they are cheaper.

Yeah, I'm 100% for a table board,

floor boards seem so cool, but I'm pretty sure the last time I actually played at one, I lost all feeling in one leg, and then when I moved, I got a leg-spasm and managed to send stones flying,

Floorboards: They give your brain more blood, by stealing it from your other extremities

Hiba or Shin-kaya (the two at the bottom) would do the job nicely.

What's the difference between new-kaya and hiba

Kiseido makes it sound like new-kaya is bad http://www.kiseido.com/go_equipment.htm
Maybe it's just a marketing technique
