I was about to buy a beechwood Veneer board and the Yunzi Double Convex Stones and Bamboo Bowls.

However, once I had the items in the cart I discovered I'd be paying $75 shipping for $80 of items. It adds up to $155, and if I lived in the US, I could buy TWO of everything in the exact same shop for $160, free shipment.

I need to find a japanese/chinese/korean shop that ships to Europe.

How should I put this... You don't - live in the US that is. I live in Japan. I have ordered a couple of items from YMI and paid the freight because I couldn't find the same thing here. Everything was great. You can spend the rest of your life imagining counterfactuals, or you can get on with it! :blackeye:

Thank you Inkwolf, that looks like a good option.

Does anyone know the difference between these two?

For 124€
http://en.aobo-shop.com/go-game-store/7 ... bowls.html

For 158,87€
http://en.aobo-shop.com/go-game-store/7 ... bowls.html

(Is it 24€ for better stones? Opinions? Should I go for the set?)

Well, just reading the descriptions lower on the pages, the more expensive one has a 13x13 grid on the back and 21.5x9mm Yunzi stones.

The less expensive has a Chinese chess board on the back and 22x8mm glass stones.

I am a fan of Yunzi, but only you know whether you will use the XiangQi-backed board more often than a 13x13 Go board.

they both say:
"[...], there is a 13*13 go game grid, or a chinese chess (xiangqi) playing surface on the other side of the board."

I'd really rather have the 13x13 side, so I guess I'll have to ask if it's optional.

I've never touched a yunzi stone but for what I've just read 24€ to change glass to yunzi is ok.

Time to ask them about the other side optionalilty.

Thanks for the help.

[Update] I had the set in my basket and the moment I sent a mail to ask about the board and stones, they went out of stock.

The marble ones are out of stock too, so now I have to choose between thrice more expensive jitsuyo stones, waiting 6 weeks or finding another shop.

So, the quest to buy a fricking goban continues. I'm close to consider this a divine symbol and keep myself to playing on the internet or the tablet.

I've bought from here before and was happy: http://www.hebsacker-verlag.de/index.php

Click the Euro symbol to get a choice of languages. The shopping cart process is unfortunately in German but you can email them in English and they'll sort out your order with them through Paypal. Very helpful people.

Thanks. I found almost the exact same set as the one in the french page (and on stock) and they also had the goban protector bags I had seen and liked somewhere else.

In just a few days I'll own a goban for the first time. :)

The set is here without a problem.

Time to oil 179 white and 179 black stones while I watch some games. :)
