I noticed in today's E-Journal that the 2010 American Go Yearbook was completed. I think it's a cool thing, and I'm glad that it was finished so quickly compared to previous years.

This made me wonder, though, did anybody else get their 2009 American Go Yearbook CD? I received the yearbook, but a note at the back of the yearbook said that the CD was "coming soon". Did anybody get the CD, yet?

I was looking forward to the 2009 CD, but I'm hoping I didn't miss any announcement about it...

I don't think they ever sent one out. I remember there was an problem with creating the CD and the AGA asked for a knowledgeable volunteer to help master it, but I don't think anyone stepped up to plate.

Is it possible to get the image (eg. online) if you're an AGA member?

I'd be happy to make it if it were requested of me.

I'm suggesting nothing. That sort of thought just pops into my head whenever you're present in a thread and they mention a need for an AGA volunteer.

According to Allan, I'm going to be able to help out with some IT design soon. But he also mentioned that I need to be patient because it takes time to get the ball rolling.

Back to the original topic, though, I really would be happy to make a CD image of the 2009 Yearbook content, if I could find out how to get it.

Thanks, Redbeard. I sent an email to that address about the CD. I'll post here if I get a response.

I've received some correspondence regarding this, and I think that, at least the CD content will be available using the same technology as the E-Journal member's edition uses. That's all I know at the moment.

If you read the journal article closer you will see that this is NOT the 2010 AGA Yearbook, but a special PDF supplement covering the 2010 US Go Congress. They put out out a similar edition for the World Amateur Go Championship.

I do not know what the actual plans for the 2010 yearbook are as I don't have time to volunteer to help with the journal. I'm just a citizen trying to help where I can. :batman:
