I originally saw this mentioned by topazg awhile back and thought I would make an official suggestion out of it. The idea is that there would be an option to hide your opponent's rank. An additional option would be that the rank would be revealed (if it is public) after the game. This is something that I would really like to see added to KGS. What do you think? |

I don't think that makes much sense since you can trivially calculate his rank from handicap/komi. |

There could be another mode in the custom game dialog, like "ranked" or "teaching", but "hidden": everyone who applies is offered an even game, and ranks are hidden. This is actually a cool idea, I think. |

When I suggested it I was considering having it an option next to "hide my rank" of "hide all ranks", and having it hide everyone's ranks on the room display, no ability to see ranks in past game histories, no ability to see rank graphs, and all games played are even, organised by automatch (as players with ranks making a ranked game won't necessarily want to play you). |
