Hi PlaySlow,

:w18: Very small, very slow.

:b19: slow, small.

:b25: strange. Two vital points here: R8 and Q9.
Probably just block at Q9 first.

:b29: Soft. Hane N8.

:w30: , :w32: not good.

:b35: Maybe turn N8, still big.

:b43: C3 ?

:w48: W has these bad habits ( :w30: , :w32: ).

:b53: You've pushed this far, why stop now; push one more, G16;
then F15 -- try to completely close W, if possible.

:b57: - :w58: bad exchange, bad habit. See :w48: .

:b59: Play here directly; don't do the exchange :b57: - :w58: .

:b63: Have to read forever here... :study:
Did you also read K9 attach or N8 turn ?

:b67: Did you read the cut L9, or the clamp M8 ?

:b73: - :w74: Locally, this shape is a disaster for Black. Classic toothpaste .

:b81: Did you read the atari M5 ?
Did you think about killing M6 or Q5, or both ?

:b83: Did you read the atari M5 ?

:b87: Did you read M7 ?

:b89: Pass ?? To reduce his eyespace,
did you read P7 push or S8 hane ?

:b93: Did you read S7 clamp ?

:b99: You already forced W to live with :b97: ; what are you still doing here ?
Tenuki; C3, etc.

:black: 107 Why. So small, so slow; not looking at the whole board.
Curious if Mr. Yoda's new book may have something to say about this move.
posts 9-43+ .

:white: 110 small; also missing the big picture. C3 huge.

:black: 115 - :white: 116 No awareness of broken shapes. You must study toothpaste .

:black: 169 Die in gote.

Black has built up a nice lead in the opening, mainly as a result of White making small life on the right side.

That being the case, there is an argument for simply securing territory with, say, :b1:. But Black still has concerns about his group on the left side and a possible invasion on the bottom side.

My first thought is :b1:, which not only attacks :wc:, but bolsters the bottom side. Now if :w2:, :b3: continues the attack and actually starts to build a framework with the Black stones on the bottom.

Your attack should work out, as well. :) But, reading errors aside, it was too single-minded. Once you did not contain White, you doggedly tried to hang on to as much of your territory as possible.

As a result, White made territory on the bottom as well as reducing Black's large framework. IMO, White has the edge now.

Thank you all for your comments. I will study thorugh the stuff you have suggested.
Edlee, i demoralized after not answering the reduction properly and didnt read throughly. I should work on playing the game calmer and use my time to think.. If i made some serious mistake in mid or early game, sometimes i stop to read and play intuitively only.. And that does not help improving.

Yes, human emotions and psychological factors can make a big difference. :)

One nice lesson from Go is to learn to see reality as it is, to see nature as it is -- no more, no less.
Over-confidence, self-distrust, arrogance, insecurity, over-estimating ourselves, under-estimating the opponent, etc... can impact the game (and our life) :) .
