Below are two games that I played against human opponents. (This is where the weakness of playing against bots becomes all too apparent.) In the first one, I made the mistake of getting into a big fight near the top left corner. Eventually this resulted in the loss of 2 large Black groups and I went on to lose by 61.5 points. In the second one I also got into a big fight and I thought I was losing until my opponent resigned following White's cut at J7. I noticed that Black's group in the centre bottom side was not yet living and a placement at M2 would've killed it. Much obliged in advance for your comments.

Game 1.

To tenuki from :w7: and ended up with the result at :b19: --
you gave up a big part of both upper corners, in gote -- makes no sense.

:w27: jump to C13 -- B would have to crawl here for a long time.

:w31: jump to C11 -- B would have to crawl more.

:b34: hane R17.

:w45: jump to C11.

:w57:  J16.

:black: 112 - :white: 113 small gap . toothpaste .

Game 2.

:w16: Connect solidly at F4, or the other tiger's mouth G4.

:b17: This shows one problem with :w16: -- you cannot resist.

:w22: not good.

Hi Tekesta

Moves I liked a lot in your game 2:

184 - even though you should probably first escape at J3, making your big group alive shows some tactical ability

240 - a beautiful net to achieve overall connectivity and seriously endanger Black

This position allows for a few exercises in reading:

1. If Black now connects at J7, how can White kill? (I believe there are two ways but one is a bit easier)
2. What's the status of Black's bottom right group?

In the beginning I had the impression you have a keen eye on vital points, which leads you to play too many stones on the second line. Strings of stones on the second line are vulnerable as can be seen here. It all depends on the situation but don't go for the vital point too soon - build some strength first;

Both of these seem like good learning games. When you get put into (or put yourself in) tight spots, you have to stretch a bit to find the best move, and that practice helps you read farther and get a better sense of vital points and timing.

A couple general things I noticed, some of which have been commented on already:

When you or your opponent play a contact move, it's generally sente and very big to respond.

Be careful of squeezing out the toothpaste (forcing your opponent through small gaps in your positions).

Try not to play moves on the second line, and be happy to respond to your opponent running on the second line as long as he lets you.

Play away from strength. If it's your strength, it's inefficient. If it's your opponent's strength, you won't be able to get much out of the stone and may just be creating a target.
