white makes several mistakes and, I feel, is behind through most of the game, then wins on time at the end (equivalent to a resignation?) I'd appreciate comments on mistakes (esp for white). Some ideas: at W42, was eyeing the cut at C12. Can at least count on peeping at C13 for an extra stone to help the corner somehow. Perhaps W52 should have been D14 instead? Capturing right away wasn't necessary, didn't help. D14 maybe creates defects in black's wall to exploit later. W66 at M4 instead. W90, considered capturing at P2 instead. It doesn't kill black's group, but removes all the difficulty in the later fight on the right side. After the game ended, I saw that a watcher commented on B89 "ballsy") w156, connect at p8 instead of capture. w180 worked out eventually, but maybe capture R12 to make sure the black rhs group is dead? Could have captured at 182-186 B201 the losing move? |

If you check this game with Leela Zero, you’ll find that Leela sees white in advantage almost throughout the entire game. While it may on the first glance look better for black (due to the large “moyo” or whatever in the upper half), there are obviously a number of flaws/weaknesses in blacks shapes. What happens in the second half of the game seems to confirm that. BTW I found replaying that game quite entertaining. |
