:black: Did I resign too early? I read a lot into the the game and I was going to lose by a large margin. Was I right or wrong? :white:

Resigning might be ok here, but I don't think there's a problem with trying an invasion at the top first.

Some other thoughts:

I think :b17: was bad. You have enough room still to approach at F17.

:b25: and :b27: crawling along the second line is bad, because white gets a nice wall. Play D18 to take the corner.

:b37: and :b39: feel small, pushing up against a weak group. I'd go straight for K17 or therabouts.

:b47: : It's not too late for an invasion, try to keep white from getting so much on top.

Most important advice: Play lots more games!

:b25: crawling on the 2nd line, any more, in this situation, is bad.
As emeraldemon said, joseki is D18 hane. Study this common joseki.

Without looking at the game, I can say yes, it was too early to resign. :) I'm only half-joking. In even games at your level, don't resign. If your opponent killed a 40-stone group, keep playing until they are captured and off the board. Your opponent is perfectly capable of making a mistake larger than yours. This is especially true in tournament games--there are so many enormous point swings at the kyu level.

Of course, there are limits to this--don't play just to win on time, etc. Also, don't wait long to resign in teaching games (that is, against players much stronger than you).
