White moves 28-40, I'm not sure what your plan was. Is it to seal black in, or to reduce, or to create outside thickness?
Black's alive on both sides, so cutting has no value, and capturing Black is not going to happen. Yet moves like
look like you are trying to take liberties away from Black. When you try that you only end up taking liberties away from yourself.Then
makes you heavier and is small. 
I feel is a bad sente. Though trading outside for inside, the problem is that it's otherwise not really useful. You played so close to Black strength that you are bound to leave cutting points or make yourself heavy or both.It looks like you were banging your head against black's strength to try to make something happen. It's better to just reassess, re-plan, and try to use your loss as aji instead of doubling down on it.
