I try to play most of my games in such a way that I learn from it. This one I tried to play influence style but feel that even though I managed to win this game it was very difficult. ![]() I think I'm starting to understand a lot more about the power of influence but still I have problems with choosing between certain moves. For example 72... how to answer this pincer ? Should I have jumped to O6 instead ? I'm "tygempanda" (black). I'll apreciate all comments very much, Thanks !!! Otenki |

Too weak to give any advice... But I would have played tried to push white towards the wall somehow, so something like o5 or o6 probably. Looking forward to the comments of the stronger players about this. |

17: If you were interested in influence, perhaps the shoulder hit on G16? This move seems inconsistent with your previous move. 21: This exchange is bad for black. White's response was the one and only natural read and after this move, black is worse off. 39: This strengthens white's corner stone. I prefer jumping out and then capping white's stones or surrounding his corner stone is miai. 45: I prefer descending at B6. There are two very weak white stones in your framework. This move would help you with an attack. 73: This stone is weak, attaching to it encourages it to strengthen. Your idea of an iron pillar as in the last corner still seems good. Though, stretching upward seems to have a follow up agains the corner that's more severe. 87: Once and awhile, this is the correct move, but the solid connection is also sente. White chose the incorrect cut, but the point is that this move leaves a cutting point to be exploited and should only be played when the cut is irrelevant and you are already very strong in the area. 91: Small. Tenuki. If white captures these stones, tenuki again. See how that's worth so many more points? 129: Bad shape that creates unnecessary cutting points. How about S10? 137: Extend. Don't let white simply split you. You can capture that stone later. 143: Moves that give white extra forcing moves make it easier for him to live. |

Playing O5 has a follow up at Q6 surrounding the corner. Playing O3 has a follow up at Q2 undercutting the corner. I'd be very happy to play Q6. And if he plays around Q6, his stone is going to have a very hard time finding life. |
