Sorry for spamming the Game Analysis forum today. Here's a DGS game against a slightly weaker opponent. He made a few mistakes and I took a big lead, before he resigned. But we both spent a lot of time on our moves so I would appreciate any comments/advice.

I've included my comments in the SGF. I'm White.

I'm not strong at all so I might be totaly wrong about all that I say.

It feels to me that both black and white played very thin and there were a lot of weaknesses in shape which were not exploited.

I'll give a few examples:

move 15: black plays the keima. tenukiing from his other stones is painfull enough... but tenukiing in order to make a keima which can be cut later?
And it does not even chase anything. White can run anywhere it wants. Keimas are for chasing while attacking. One point jump has less weaknesses in this case.
The keima only made the left weaker after whites reply.

Move 20: Why are you doing a 2 space pincer? Did this have a reason or did you just feel like it ? O4 or N3 is joseki in this case. Not a one point jump. In case of one point pincer what you played would be joseki.
Move 26: I think this is overplay. Maybe one point jump is stronger and allows you to do the same thing.
This way aji around O6 is also still there ?

I think if the white shape below was better black has serious problems with his group on top.

At move 60 white is seriously overplaying by haneing one more time.
Black should cut and kill the group. F8 ?

White should fix shape with F7 or so ?

I did not read very far but I think the shape of black is better than white in this position.
Black should not have been the one dying.

73: e13 maybe better ? Black needs to find a way to stay connected and not get cut. 73 does none of those.
77: h9 or so instead, Kiai ! If he does not reply you can cut again at F8. I did not read completely though.

Maybe a stronger player can give more/better examples of why/how there was too much thinness on the board.

Keep it up & I apreciate any comments on my comments :-)

Cheers,
Otenki

A few thoughts.

6: In general the double approach against a 4-4 stone is bigger than the double approach against a 3-4 stone. So ignoring a 4-4 approach to approach a 3-4 stone is asking for trouble. If you want sente to make this approach, choose a joseki in the upper right that will give you sente to make the approach.
16: Hmm, I wonder if you aren't thinking of the equivalent move in a 4-4 joseki - this kosumi looks like the very valuable 3-3 point, but in fact it is the smaller 2-3 point.
20: O4 instead. Why not make territory on the 4th line?
42: C6 seems pretty clearly bigger, imho.
50: E4 is the move that gives your opponent bad shape. (He should have played F4.)

Seems you did quite well in this game.

One thought: :b41: you wrote is a "pretty big" move, and you never got around to (or didn't need) to invade on the top side. I find :b41: to be *extremely* loose on Black's part. Black's made a 5 space extension, on both sides of which white has a healthy group. Then he's expanded into the center with a keima which you are in a position to cut, and on the other side with a 2 space jump in front of your wall.

Black's actually really weak on the top and I think you have a very easy invasion here, at K17 or M17 for instance. I think in practice I would approach the last corner (@ C6 like you did) side first with :w42:, then come back to address the top side.
