I played a game against someone from my club. I'm mostly intrested in knowing what I should have done with N11. (move 70) I had the feeling my position was ok at this point. I'm not thick enough in the surroundings to split the two stones ? I made some obvious reading mistakes at the end, those are not so important; more tsumego and sleep will do the trick there  Thanks !! Otenki |

B10 should be at B7, your left side group is stable, you can fight here, and white has a floating group on the lower side... you're jonesing for weak group #2 As far as how to deal with N7... I don't think it really needs a response (definitely not immediately, maybe if you attack the lower white stones and can force it into a splitting attack), it's just kinda slow, takes up space, but that's it. I think you got too attached to the idea of a massive moyo, and you don't need that to win. |

Agree with shapenaji. There's a useful lesson to learn here - when you've invested in a wall or influence, as you have, and your opponent plays a slow reducing move, then you can consider it you earning the interest on your investment. Now you can go and earn some points elsewhere. Maybe with a corner invasion at bottom left. That stone your opponent played is unlikely to earn points, and he'll have to play more stones to rescue it eventually. Worthless stones as far as your opponent is concerned, and more return on your investment. |

We're about the same strength, but on the subject of how you actually attacked the invasion I think 75 was a huge mistake. If you'd pulled back to M10 white connecting with L12 would have left him with a cutting point at N12* and you would have been strong enough to jump to J9 and keep him behind your lines while putting more pressure on the lower right white group. Instead you invited white to strengthen himself and break your shape. *Possibly good endgame later. |
