Now that I am cosing in on the realm of SDKs I think it is time that I put my study ideas in readable form. Mostly my plan involves games at the moment but I also have some books that I read from time to time, though that needs to become more frequent.

Step one on my road is of course to breach an arbitrary barrier and become SDK, after that like so many others, I have my eyes set on Shodan.

How will I get there? that plan is for general improvement between now and shodan and I do not have any special plan for the SDK goal.

Games: Try to play at least one ranked/asr(serious) game each day. and at least three games per week with more than 20 minutes time which I will also review on my own after the game.
The plan is to play 50(2 so far) of the longer timed ones before the end of the year

Books(non problem): Attack and defence, I have started it by I intend to finish it =)

Problem books: Finish Tesuji, rework GGPFB vol 2 and work through GGPFB vol 3.

By the way, feel free to post any comments in this thread since the chance is big that I will post games and positions in it =)

Now I will hit a couple of pages in Tesuji!

Oh, that's what it's for. I thought it was for people who want to savor that desperate feeling of waiting for a game, like an ugly teenage girl waiting by the phone to be asked to the prom. My mistake.

(Note: I appreciate that running ASR from a volunteer sense must be hard, but I think that the getting games thing is a real challenge. When I tried it, I had a rare chance for a couple of weeks to block off multi-hour periods in 3 different, distributed sections of a 24-hour clock, I PM'd all my opponents my schedule and posted that in my profile. Got 0 games. That's the reason for my snideness. If this has has been solved in the past few months or so, I'm open-minded and will try again, but I feel I already went way overboard to try to make it work.)

The quality of my games is dropping like a brick.

I surfaced on 10k and true to form went on a crazy tilt with strange moves, lax plays and a very strange mindset.

This tends to happen to me as soon as something turns out good for a while. I loose all my cool...

When this happens I just feel awful and kinda hate me and the game. But I gotta learn to control this or its a clear recipe for disaster higher uo, I just cant afford to be this non-consequent, not in Go or in any other area of my life.

I have been rather slack on the books and problems for a while, and I feel now that at least the problem books must make a comeback, if not only of the habit och reading things out. Thats one things that problem books do. Apart from approving your reading ability it also approves your ability/instinct to actually read out situations.

By the way, is this post a whiny rant? I guess it is...

Well, I gotta get back on that Tesuji-horse!

I've found 1001 Life and Death Problems very good if you enjoy tsumego. Also 501 Opening Problems is fun and insightful. :)
