Hi, what is it you really really can't wait to see? Give the two or three favorites. Mine: 1) Replay and teaching tools: Tools that make it easy to share knowledge, experience and ideas are my undisputed number one. I even hope that Kaya will provide tools so good that it will be attractive to start a carreer as online teacher on it. I will be a student, not a teacher, though. 2) Skins for goban and stones: I know it sounds silly, but aesthetics are an important part of the game for me. I want to be able to chosse a good looking goban ![]() 3) Some kind of tsumego mode: Would just be awesome! Less priority than 1) and 2) though. Jörg |

Well, I don't have three specifically off the top of my head, but Gabriel has been talking about the inclusion of a joseki dictionary that sounds really neat and exciting ![]() |

Choosing a skin for the goban as easily as dragging and dropping a jpeg onto it - like it is possible in Moyo Go Studio - would be great. |

1) I'd kill for an audio time indicator, voiced would be decadent. (Well, I'd be killed less at least). 2) Review tools matching the quality of kibitz tools. 3) Easier to get games' SGFs. (I believe these are all on the agenda, but it's what I'm looking forwards to). Tsumego mode would be awesome as well. |

Not two people agree on the same feature ![]() Of course we have priorities on what we want to build, and they are swayed by public emotion, and also tighten down by techinical implementations. More often than not, solving one problem gives us the tools to quickly resolve other ones. For example, one not-asked feature is undo's, but solving that is not so trivial, as we have to have a mechanismo for going back. But after that is solved, finally fixing the sandbox will be much easier, which in turn means that review tools come faster. I want to set my go stones like these: http://www.algorithmicartisan.com/gostones/ And so that everyone sees the set I play with, not just me! |

One thing I like about playing Tygem Japanese client is the byoyomi countdown. It works very well. |

I don't know if I'll use the new server or not. KGS gets me games just fine. On the other hand, if I were in the position of running tournaments then a feature that would be enough to make me switch a tournament to a new server would be having TD privileges to set up third-party tournament games. A little like the KGS tournament options, except with the pairings generated by the TD rather than the server. The system would drag the players into the match and start the clocks running if one of them isn't there. I don't know how much frustration I've endured with players who can't figure out how to create matches. |

My list is along these lines: (in no particular order) 1) Tsumego à la WBaduk 2) Voiced byo-yomi countdown 3) Malkovich commenting during games 4) Show variation -chat option 5) A bit below the others, more strict escaper policy compared to KGS. I prefer Tygem or WBaduk style. |

I prefer Tygem or WBaduk style. Not sure if you're on the alpha, but 3 and 4 are already implemented. I had never seen Malkovich commenting before coming here, but watching games on Kaya is already better than other servers because, when people see observers, they almost always add Malkovich comments as they play. It turns just about every game into a Malkovich game ![]() |

For me, the priorities would be: 1) Understandable ratings and rankings (done) 2) Effective escaper policy 3) Rich information in your profile (current version not bad, but could be better) 4) Review tools 5) Voiced byo yomi 6) Scalable board and other windows 7) Button for making audio Malkovich comments (it is distracting though fun to type during a game) 8) Possibility of video and audio communication a la Skype 9) Call 911 Button for screenshotting bad language or offensive behaviour (as on Dashn) 10) Built-in statistics (such as found in KGS Analytics) Other things that would be cool for me would be: * Ability to display a national flag by your avatar * Houses and go clubs with inter-house competitions * Filespace for writing journals and notes, with possibility of sharing if you like That's all for now! The Alpha has been getting progressively more and more fun to play on. Fischer time works quite well for go, although I *still* manage to get into time trouble, and I adore the malkovich command - it is really helpful to compare my impressions of the game at the time with what actually happened, and it is so interesting to read the other player's comments, too. |

ez4u wrote: Guest log in so I can see what it looks like. oren wrote: They have a movie here. http://kaya.gs/kayags/project.php The movie is so old already. The best feature in that movie is sandboxes, which are have been completely neglected. We should fix them soon. guest accounts aren't coming anytime soon, but if we truly work on sandboxes, you will be able to share a game with someone not logged in in the server. That was the original idea at least. Maybe we can use the audios you provided with fischer too. We are definitely missing showing more about the time left. There is currently not a no-sound solution either (we should do some flashing or the sort). This does remind me we could use some audios with "one minute left"and "5 minutes left" like wbaduk. If you can make some, maybe we can push audio for 0.8. The vast majority of the features mentioned here are under-way, it will just take time to build all of them, while also shrikning the tweaki and adding other features. Great topic! Congratulations to the guy that started this thread. |

I would also like to chime in with support with: * Rank graphs * Analytics ala KGS Analytics * Country flag But really, I think the most important thing for me as a user at alpha stage is that you focus on making the core elements of the experience really solid, responsive and reliable. This can be disappointing for people who aren't savvy on software development because they want to see features, features, features but then complain when a UI button doesn't do what it should. With that in mind, would the developers appreciate screenshots with my annotated comments on UX, UI and IA? I would be happy to give a detailed analysis. |
