Could this be Renju?

Edit: nevermind, apparently the book is full of Go references. This must be from a nine stone handicap game - White is outnumbered 2-to-1, but already ahead :)

Funny, even with the supposed "bad" shape, I reallllllllly do not think white is ahead at all.(I don't even get the slight feeling that white is winning this). Note that black's "lone" stone is hitting white's shape point too. GEE GEE! :)

Think about that a second. White has invested 2 stones. Black has invested 4. If it is currently white's move, white cuts. If it is black's move, black cannot attack white or white cuts. White is certainly winning this fight ;) And in this instance, it really is a bad empty triangle for black. There is no need for that connection.

Why are we analyzing a novel's cover again?

I would post my idea of the funniest go cover, but I suspect the image would be removed.
A description would probably be removed as obscene.
