Thanks Bill!

jts, Edlee,

I see what you guys are both saying. I'll definitely keep that in mind. Just knowing about the "rules" is good because I know that it should be probably the first move I consider, and then try to find something better. Sometimes I don't even think about a move that I'm supposed to be doing "almost" everytime. So at least know that I know the "rule", I can start with it as my best move while I think about a better.

Been stuck at around 12k for 1.5 weeks or so. I've been told the weakest part of my game is life and death. I started off playing as many games as I could for experience, but I am going to turn back to doing maybe 100 L&D problems a day and one game, instead of playing mass games. I think this will help me break through the barrier I am currently at. What do you guys think?

Here is a game I recently played:

Many, many basic shape problems. It's a very long journey, with tens or hundreds of thousands of steps... :)

Thanks EdLee,

I think something I need to do is just be more aware of my moves while I am playing, perhaps play slower and really think about shape and considering multiple moves per move. Hopefully I can start rectifying my shape problems in my next few games.

Thanks for the review!

Just played a 35min 1min byo period game. Which allows me to play at a comfortable pace and read all my cutting points before I play them. I spent a lot of time thinking during this game, and I think the results and sound play showed from this game.

Posting it here to see if you guys agree that this game was much better played then my previous games. I was really focused and really focused on reading. I think it made a huge different, do you guys think this is one of my top games? It's vs a 9k with a 2 handicap.

Thanks, Ed.

Here's another recent game from me. I think this is the first time I've used my Moyo correctly. I lot of time I've used it to make territory, which in my studies I learned that it was the wrong way to go about it. This game is an example of me using my Moyo correctly. What do you think?

Thanks Ed,

Yeah, not sure what happen there at the end, I was in my 20 second byomi period and started playing quite poorly. Thanks for pointing out the better moves I could have made vs W while driving him into my wall, I did get a bit loose near the end of that section of the game, and almost let him out.

Just solidified 11k. I played by far the best game I've played ever I think. I was told that I needed to attack more, so I studied it a lot with the Get Strong series, and then played this game. I think it really shows. I personally think this is my best game so far, I'm curious to see if you guys think it's an improvement.

Hmm, B7 looks odd to me Drewch. I think C10 is bigger. I could be completely wrong of course. :)

What move # are you talking about? I don't think B7 was ever played.

Black Seven. Sorry, that was ambiguous. I'll use :b7: next time.

Yes your right, right after doing this i was like opps. I should have played a knights move approach to his top corner from the top i think.

Well it's debatable. You want to play C10, it's a big opening move. It severely limits his potential moyo and functions as a lovely extension off your bottom left star point. Now whether you play a knight's move to the top right or not before C10 is something I don't know or grasp yet. C10 is gote so that counts against it somewhat. But remember, the top isn't very valuable for him because of the way his 3,4 enclosure faces, so either approach to the top right star point is good for you, if anything I think approaching from the right side is better than approaching from the top.

Again, all of this comes with the caveat that I could be completely wrong. :)

Thanks Bill,

I'll take the time to go through all those variations. Many thanks for the in depth review. I will let you know when I've completed studying it.
