Hey folks,
while driving home today and listening to the radio I suddenly realised how go-addicted I am.
I was listening to Placebos hit "Ashtray Heart" where the first line is like

"Cenicero, cenicero"

and all I could grasp was "Lee Seedol, Lee Seedol"...

So my question is, when do you realise how go-addicted you are?

I was going to post something about Atari, the game company, when I found out that there also was a company named Tengen.
From wikipedia: "Tengen was a video game publisher and developer that was created by arcade game manufacturer Atari Games." I had no idea.

I think they wrote a bit of software called Sente as well IIRC. Was definitely genuinely Go inspired :)

You are go-addicted when you see the latest Iron Maiden album and the first thing you think of is tsumego :)

At least that's the most noticeable thing from my experience. Every time I hear someone mentioning "life and death", I need a moment to realize that it probably isn't go related at all. The phrase just has a completely different meaning since I play go ;)

I woke up Sunday morning with an image of a go board in my head, thinking 'I should just keep him crawling on the second line...'

Edit: Also, when your girlfriend makes you a go birthday cake. Eh, Fwiffo?

Lol. I do that. But not hidden. Its college, the professors don't care what you do in class as long as you don't disturb others...

Wow, this is exactly what I did in 11th grade with a Korean exchange student .

For me, the context is primary school. That's why it's hidden. :)
In university, people would just skip class if they think they have better things to do. Of course, with the consequences understood.

when... you dismiss your class early to watch students like Jordus and Araban finish their game. ;-)

When a Go club regular both stays latter than you on a Friday night and beats you in on the following Saturday morning, your first impression is that the player has started sleeping at the club.

 My thoughts exactly!

I guess when your using your graphing paper in math class to play games and attempt to make tsumego.

Or when you look at the cracks in the floor and start to visualize a game being played out.

...when you're sitting at work in a meeting and draw a grid onto a piece of paper so you can play out some basic joseki

Not that I did that today, or anything. ;)

Can't say I blame them for picking the name Tengen, it is pretty cool ;-)

I know I'm addicted because I experience withdrawal if I don't try to solve any Go problems for a few days. Once I start again, I immediately feel better.

Now, if you do something similar to the intersections instead!

Well. There was a time when I look at tile grids and positions such as fuseki and tsumego start to appear...
